May’s climate action projects with Ecologi
Every month we support two different impact-driven climate projects.
Here’s the summary:
Phoenix Wharf, as part of Istoria Group, supported a project that repairs water boreholes, providing clean water where supplies cannot meet demand, and another which plants forest gardens and supports local farmers.
Repairing Water Boreholes in Eritrea

⚲: Zoba Debub district, Eritrea
This project works to identify broken down boreholes, renovate them and supply a maintenance programme to ensure that clean, safe water is delivered to 81% of Eritrea that don’t have access to clean water.
Planting Forest Gardens in Uganda

⚲: Mount Elgon region, Eastern Uganda
This project involves the establishment of 400 Forest Gardens. Each Forest Garden is approximately one hectare in size, and local farmers are supported and trained to establish and look after their Forest Gardens over a period of 4 years.
